Labor Day might be all about BBQs and lounging out by the lake or river somewhere, but for some of us it’s also about squeezing in another running event. And in Northern California, there are plenty of running races happening all up the coast to keep you busy. Whether you’re looking for a road or trail race, there are plenty of options to pick from this Labor Day.

Below, we put together a list of our favorite Labor Day running races in Northern California to get you outside before your BBQ or motivate you to head up to the mountains for the long weekend. Whatever you do, take an extra day off and treat yourself!
